Ultra Rare Italian super sports bike with very low ks showing!
KEY FACTS
This 2013 Bimota DB5R has traveled an indicated 1287ks since new and includes recent service receipts. The DB5R is a
lightweight high performance Italian sports bike featuring a Ducati 1078cc L-twin engine, a distinctive
chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame, and top-tier components like
fully adjustable Marzocchi forks and Brembo brakes, offering around 98
HP for exhilarating road and track performance, blending classic styling
with modern engineering.If you've never seen a Bimota before: this is a bike that was made by a small Italian factory that was started by Valerio 'BI'anchi, Guiseppe 'MO'rri and Massimo 'TA'mburini (yes, him of Ducati 916 fame). They bought engines from other manufacturers (like Ducati, Suzuki and others) and then built a completely new bike around these of their own design. They used the best components they could find and also made their own beautifully engineered parts in steel, aluminium and even titanium.
This DB5R was designed by Sergio Robbiano and is covered in beautiful parts, such as milled aluminium for the yokes and engine mounts, carbon bodywork, Domino throttle, aluminium clutch and brake levers with etched Bimota logos. The DB5R EVO is the last of this series that Bimota built. They used a Ducati 1078 Desmo EVO engine (with improved heads that only needed one spark plug instead of the two of the DS). Bimota was (and still is) a small factory and most models had tiny production runs, especially compared to other brands. It's likely there were only 10 of the 5R EVOs ever built (according to Ian Falloon, an authority on all things Bimota and Ducati).
