The Pacer E34 Bathurst Big Tank (Track Pack) was a purpose built race car with a commitment made by Chrysler Australia to ensure it used Australian-made components only. A new 4.0L Hemi inline six-cylinder replaced the dated slant six, with the floor shift 3-speed manual still used. The desirable E34 4BBL Track Pack option saw the Pacer fitted with a Competition engine that featured a 4BBL carby, Cylinder Block and Pistons .040" over Std, Special Crankshaft and Conrods, H/D Crank and Conrod Bearings, Engine Roll limiting bar, 2 Plate Clutch and a H/D Close Ratio 3 speed manual gearbox as standard. This all helped the Pacer produce a seriously impressive 175kw of power, making for an engaging and quick factory race car.
Only a handful of these very rare Chrysler classics were ever produced, making this a spectacular and very rare find. In 2008 this example went through a full rotisserie restoration at a cost of approximately $90,000 and has traveled only a mere 500 miles in the years since. The Pacer was dry stored as part of a collection, and recently was removed to undergo with a refresh of the engine gaskets and a check-over before being put back on the road. This example presents phenomenally well from all angles and is certain to impress, and includes current NSW registration until 12/03/2025 on the custom BIGTNK plates.
This is a true enthusiast car with no money left to be spent, and is a very rare piece of Australian motoring history.
