The Mini Paceman R61 was launched in 2013 as a sportier three-door sibling to the Countryman SUV. Marketed as the first-ever “Sport Activity Coupé” in the compact premium segment, the Paceman rode on the same platform as the Countryman but ditched the rear doors in favour of a coupe-like roofline and longer doors, aiming for a blend of SUV practicality and hot hatch dynamics.
