Originally styled after the military grade Humvee, General Motors released the Hummer H1 as a civilian version after popularisation by enthusiasts such as Arnold Swarzenegger. The H2 was subsequently created which modernised the utilitarian H1 into well appointed modern civilian SUV with the same styling cues. The final iteration, the H3 was released on a modified GM Colorado/Canyon chassis and kept all the aesthetics and rugged offroad capability in a more manageable size, the 2009 plate being the last released in the Australia before the brand was wound up in 2010, making this the last petrol powered Hummer offering.
