Launched in 2014 the W222 S-Class was the sixth generation of Mercedes flagship luxury sedan. Like all previous models the S-Class introduces a line up of new technology and features often not seen across other vehicles or marques. The W222 would utilise LED lighting only, both inside and outside the car, a first for a vehicle when released in 2014. The W222 would also debut the available Magic Body Control, consisting of windshield-mounted stereo cameras that can 'read' the road ahead (Road Surface Scan) and communicate with the Active Body Control suspension to ready it for an uneven road surface. Like it's predecessor the W221, the W222 S500 is powered by a powerful twin turbo V8 producing 455 hp (399 kw) backed by a 7 speed automatic transmission which in conjunction with the active steering and suspension makes this car an absolute pleasure to drive.
