Arguably one of the most recognisable household name classics the Volkswagen Type 2 Commerical or more commonly known "Kombi" was introduced in Introduced in 1949 after being derived from the highly successful Type 1 Beetle. The Type 2 would originally be offered as a bus, utility or the most commonly seen van, however as years went on more and more derivatives would be offered by Volkswagen and coach building companies. Function was prioritised over form with the unitary body mounted to a ladder frame and the reliable and proven air cooled mechanical's used. 1967 would see the introduction of the T2 Kombi, an updated model with a simpler body styling, revised suspension with a raised ride height, a larger more powerful engine, and introduced a 12 volt electrical system over the previously used 6 volt.
This solid base and ready to restore example Kombi Type 2 Microbus has traveled an indicated 66,131ks and is not in a running condition currently. The Kombi appears complete, making for a simpler and ideal restoration find. As always with vehicles of this nature inspections are highly recommended.
