The B110 Datsun 1200, or Sunny overseas, was the second generation of the 1200 which ran for only 3 short years between 1970-1973. The car was an affordable and economical competitor to the Toyota Corolla and also became a favourite for rally drivers second only to the slightly larger 1600. The 1200 also took out the Class-A racing title at Bathurst in 1970, a class for cheap cars that cost less than $2000 new.
This example of a Datsun 1200 Coupe Deluxe was modified in the late 1990's with little changes since, and is a western Sydney icon that has held up incredibly well in all aspects, a testament to the quality of the build. Fitted with a modified twin-spark turbocharged Z18ET fuel injected engine from a 910 Bluebird with water to air intercooling, and backed by a 5-speed FJ20 manual gearbox with a Fiat 132 diff built by Rigoli, this 1200 has also been NSW engineered for the range of modifications fitted to the car (copy of certificate included).
