The third generation of Mazda's cult classic MX-5 saw the introduction of the first power retractable hardtop in 2005 with the NC series which added only 37kg to the overall weight and gave owner the security and insulation of a coupe. The NC chassis was built on a shortened RX-8 platform, making it slightly larger and more refined than the previous two generations and with added safety and comfort features. The styling and legendary handling of this model has given it a cult following  and is considered a future classic by enthusiasts.

This example of a 2.0L MX-5 hardtop convertible has travelled a modest 165,230ks since new, with partial service hisotry, retains both remote keys and has current NSW registration until 18/06/2026.
