Introduced in 1968 the W114 was the first of the new era of styling for the Mercedes, replacing the W110 sedans known for their fintail styling. This generation of Mercedes would go on to be known for their unprecedented reliability and despite being discontinued in 1976 it is not unusual to see these still being heavily used today across Europe and Africa. The 280E model would be fitted with a 981 generation of the famed M180 inline six cylinder which uses Bosch D-Jetronic injection that senses the ambient temperature, engine temperature, intake manifold under pressure and throttle valve position with an analog computer that determines how many milliseconds the fuel injectors should stay open per revolution.
This very well presented and preserved example of a W114 Mercedes 280E sedan is ready to be put back on the road. The 280E shows clear signs of the care that has gone into maintaining the condition of this car and retains the original books with good partial service history, 2x keys and near new tyres fitted. The subtle light yellow exterior pairs perfectly with the brown leather interior which is again presented in good condition throughout, with a crack in the dash being the main sign of age. This is an impressive example that is not to be missed and would make for an ideal weekend simple restorer.
