The large American cars were staring to become to expensive for the average family, and sales for small Toyota's and Volkswagen's were sky rocketing. Ford knew they needed to make a smaller and more affordable family car, thus the Falcon was born. Initially launched in 1959, the Ford Falcon was an instant top seller, and not just in America. The first generation of the Falcon ran for 3 years between 1960 and 1963, and each year brought new updates for the newly released Falcon. In 1961 the top of the line Futura was introduced in the 2-door coupe, and by 63' was also available as a  convertible and sedan. The American Falcon was also manufactured and sold in Australia as the XK, XL Falcons.

This rare, running and complete XK utility is a fantastic find and won't need a huge amount of work to get it back onto the road. These unique classics also make for a fantastic platform for a street machine or patina style build. The engine starts, runs and idles, but currently has no brakes so we were not able to test further. The XK is in complete condition and seems to be mostly rust free except for the floor in the tub and some small areas around window seals. A period style sunvisor is also fitted.
