Iconic 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth in striking Diamond White, a rare and highly desirable homologation classic built with motorsport in mind. This is your opportunity to own a piece of Australian and international performance history.
This Sierra Cosworth was engineered for Group A competition, yet remains eminently usable on the road. It’s raw, pure, and steeped in character, ideal for a collector, enthusiast, or anyone wanting an adrenaline charged rare modern classic from the 1980s golden era of turbos.
Ford would produce only 5,545 examples of the three-door Cosworth, meeting the homolgation requirements to ensure the car made its way into the motorsport fields, where it dominated, and arguably caused the end of the Group A era. The Sierra RS in base form like this one was fitted with the 2.0-litre 16v turbo Cosworth engine which produced 204hp, landing 0-100 times around the 6.5 second mark with incredible downforce from the oversized wing.
This example is a rare find in Australia and has seen a range of modifications to produce approximately 420hp. The vendor states the engine has been built with forged pistons and rods, custom grind camshafts, a built gearbox with straight cut gears, heavy duty clutch, coilover suspension and more. The car indicates 78,831 Miles travelled since new, however there are no service logs to verify. The body has been resprayed, however the door jams, and engine bay etc appear original. Registration on personalised QLD plates is current until 02/12/2025.
The Cosworth is a motorsport legend, and this marks a unique opportunity to secure one of these legends.
