| * Updated description* Passed NSW Roadworthy The word "Torana" comes from the Aboriginal meaning "to fly" and would be attached to a series of mid size vehicles produced by Holden between 1967-1979. While the Torana was only a short production run, it would see seven versions of the vehicle across three generations and become an Australian household name. 1970 would see the introduction of the first performance Torana (XU-1) which due to its power to weight ratio was an instant success in motorsport and replaced the V8 GTS Monaro's. To this day Torana's are a true collectable car in Australia, a badge that has seen some incredible price increases over the last few years. This 1973 LJ Torana 1300 Deluxe Sedan is a project car that is visibly mostly complete. The black vinyl interior has been re-trimmed and presents well with only some minor tidying up required to finish it off. The 1.3L 4-cylinder engine fires and seems to run quite well and is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car has been finished in a orange and black paint scheme giving it a great appearance on the road. This is a great opportunity to grab an iconic Australian Torana badged car without having to spend big.
